Charlie Anderson, VP, the developer of the new concept, says "Our customers are experts at finding new locations for their concession operations. Many of our operators in over 90 countries have told us that they've had to pass up some very profitable selling opportunities because they didn't have a way to operate our donut production equipment because power was unavailable. This included game fairs, county fairs, fishing contests and the like places where there were lots of hungry customers but no way to get electric power to the spot or simply not enough power to go around."
"It was frustrating because our standard electric-powered machines make a lot of money for our operators at busy locations," said Anderson. "LP gas-fired fryers were available, be we considered their open flame design to be dangerous and inefficient. Instead, we developed an 'in shot' immersion LP gas-fired burner that injects heat energy directly into the frying shortening fast, safely and efficiently.
These new models are compact and as easy to operate as the company's electric powered machines which now number about 30,000 throughout the world.
"Finally," says Anderson, "we have an answer for anyone that wants to establish a donut operation in a tough-to-get-to, popular spot. The equipment is very portable, sets up in a few minutes, and lets our operators quickly start making money selling donuts! Our Quick Change System allows operators to make mini, small, medium and large donuts.
However mini-donuts are the most popular for on-the-spot sales.
The gas models weigh about from 90 to 117 pounds fully assembled depending on the model. Production outputs range from 1200 to 2400 mini donuts per hour! Construction employs food-grade stainless steel and aluminum. A tamperproof digital counter keeps track of all products produced for cash control. All eight components are interchangeable in the field which eliminates service calls.
